Fauna has a 20-year
background in dance and
live performance and 10 years
of teaching experience. She founded SoulFlower Studios and co-founded Studio 318 World Dance Oasis. Fauna is also the Artistic Director of LunaSea Dance Theatre. Her degree, Anthropology of Expressive Culture, focuses on the ethnographic study of dance and music from around the world.
Fauna's training in belly dance began in her home state of California. Prior to discovering belly dance, Fauna studied and performed jazz and hip hop; English and Irish dance. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher.
As an active dancer and teacher in Greensboro and surrounding communities for more than five years, Fauna has taught master classes at UNCG, A&T University and Elon University. Her local performances include the Center City Park grand opening event, the Solstice Festival, Tribal Carnival and A Night at the Moulin Rouge with Zoe Jakes and Awake the White and Win'try Queen at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro.
Working behind the scenes with dancers, singers and actors, Fauna is spending more time in theatre, providing movement coaching and choreographic direction.
Most recently Fauna won Yes! Weekly's 2010 "Best Belly Dancing" award for the Triad.
